Board of Advisors

The TCN Advisory Board is comprised of key members of New England’s entrepreneurial, investor, academic, political and service communities and provides critical thought leadership and feedback to the TCN Board of Directors and the TCN Program Line Managers. As part of the TCN Community, the Advisory Board uses its passion about the value of entrepreneurship to help foster the growth of New England's broader innovation economy.

Tim Duncan

Tim Duncan is a member of Launchpad Venture Group, a Boston-area angel investment group. He is a successful entrepreneur, executive, and attorney in the fields of corporate finance, investment management and related technology. Tim has founded and managed several successful companies.

In 1994, he founded Story Street Partners, a start-up that pioneered the use of the Internet to deliver market data, research and strategic information to senior executives, analysts and portfolio managers in the investment industry for clients such as Merrill Lynch and Putnam Investments. Tim sold the company to Thomson Financial in 1998 where it became the foundation for the Thomson One product. Tim was President of Thomson Financial Interactive until 2002.

After a four year sabbatical to pursue his interest in politics, Tim returned to the business world in 2006 and founded Story Street Wealth Management – a Registered Investment Advisory firm working with successful entrepreneurs in the Boston area. He also works with several start-ups in the information, search and financial services sectors as an advisor, attorney and fund raiser.

Tim has a degree in accounting and finance from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and is a graduate of the Washington University School of Law in St. Louis . Tim is an attorney and is a member of the Massachusetts Bar, Boston Society of Security Analysts and Boston Estate Planning Council. He is a CFP and is a candidate for Level III of the CFA Charterholder exam which he will hopefully complete in June of 2009.
