9:00 - 9:15 Introductions and Getting to Know Your Fellow Entrepreneurs
Get to know who your spending the day with and find out who you want to connect more with. This morning ice breaker session will get your day going.
9:15 - 10:15 Operational Issues to Get Your Company Up and Running
Life Science entrepreneurs face unique challenges in operationalizing their companies. This session will review the alphabet soup of important players that every life science entrepreneur should know and what role they play in your start-up. A panel of experts will also discuss reimbursing your employees and developing a strategy for building and managing industry partnerships.

It is an oft repeated truism that angels and venture capital firms invest in teams more than they invest in ideas and technologies. Topics discussed will include:
- What is a founder’s role on the management team?
- Is the current team complete enough for the stage of the company?
- Does the current team need someone to play an interim role to fill in a critical need?
- At what stage of the company growth would it be appropriate to have a management reorg?

11:30 - 12:30 Does Your Company Have the Big 3? – Intellectual Property, Regulatory, and Reimbursement
You may have developed breakthrough technology that is safe and effective, but it won’t generate the revenue you anticipate unless it can be properly protected, approved, and reimbursed. This session will review the three keys to success: Intellectual Property Protection, Regulatory Strategy, and Reimbursement Approval. Topics will include understanding patent strategy, impacts of design change, clinical trial costing and methodology, and business model integration that dovetails with payor priorities.

The Mentor/Mentee lunch session is an opportunity for the Boot Camp entrepreneurs to ask questions and receive advice from experienced entrepreneurs, strategic professionals, or early stage investors and who are active supporters of New England’s entrepreneurial community. The lunch will be structured for 3 entrepreneurs to be matched and eat lunch with 1 entrepreneurship expert. In addition to the educational learning the Mentor/Mentee lunch will help foster community to provide networking and communication support, and to accelerate the success of New England’s innovation economy.

2:00 pm - 3:00 Funding Options
So you have a product, but how do you know if you should start a company? This panel will feature an entrepreneur, angel, and a VC and will explore the differences between the various fundraising sources. The panel will focus on determining the market for your product and which funding source is most appropriate to maximize the exit for your company.

3:00 -3:45 Understanding Term Sheets
As an entrepreneur, understanding the parts of an Angel or Venture Capital term sheet can be a daunting task. The session discusses common practices and pitfalls surrounding the use of term sheets and the current market terms for early-stage angel and venture investments. Some sample term sheets will be reviewed and explained.

So you have built an amazing early stage life science company. Now you need to explain it. This panel will cover how to concisely communicate a company’s value proposition to investors in a variety of formats including the elevator pitch, an angel presentation and a VC meeting.
