Ted Gillick
is the Vice President, Corporate Development at EMC. Ted is a Corporate Development executive with over 10 years of experience advising executives on strategic initiatives, mergers & acquisitions execution, and corporate strategy development. His expertise includes mergers & acquisitions corporate development, team leadership, business plan construction, financial modeling, negotiation, structuring, integration, and results based execution. He has worked with Avid Technologies, Lehman Brothers, Barclays Capital and Symphony Asset Management.

The Banker:
Joseph Sanborn joined the JEGI in 2014 as a Managing Director and Co-Head of Technology Banking. He has extensive strategic advisory experience across mobile, software, financial technology and tech-enabled services, having established and built successful M&A practices at two other firms previously. With more than 20 years’ investment banking experience, Joseph has advised clients on numerous transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, recapitalizations and strategic investments. During his career, which began at J.P. Morgan, Joseph has completed deals involving major corporations, such as Samsung, Research in Motion, Siemens, Xerox, First Data Corporation, Honeywell, VeriFone, DuPont and Merck, as well as a number of venture-backed and founder-owned companies. Most recently, Joseph was Managing Director and Head of M&A at Rutberg & Company. Previously, he served as Managing Director and Co-Head of the Software, Internet and Services Group at SVB Alliant, an affiliate of Silicon Valley Bank. Prior to SVB, he led the technology services M&A practices at both Robertson Stephens and Jefferies & Company. In addition, he is a Trustee/Board Observer for the Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council, the region’s leading technology association and network for technology executives, entrepreneurs and investors.

Nick Dougherty
is Program Director for PULSE@MassChallenge, where he is focused on facilitating active collaboration between high-impact digital health startups and key stakeholders within the healthcare ecosystem. Prior to this, he was Co-Founder and CEO of VerbalCare, where he designed patient-centered communication platforms for providers and both verbal and nonverbal patients to improve shared decision making, healthcare management, and patient engagement. He was named General Manager in 2015 after VerbalCare was acquired by Medical Specialties Distributors (MSD)

Dinesh Melwani represents domestic and international clients in an array of transactions, ranging from project financing and M&A to navigating complicated internal investigations, with a particular focus in the healthcare industry. Dinesh’s practice spans the technology, energy, and pharmaceutical and life sciences sectors, where he serves as a strategic advisor to his clients. In Massachusetts, Dinesh represents clients in the purchase and sale of Solar Renewable Energy Certificates (SRECs) under the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources’ SREC-I and SREC-II programs. Dinesh’s practice extends to the representation of major pharmaceutical companies with both internal and government investigations stemming from various matters, including whistleblower allegations and FDA audits, both in the United States and abroad, with a particular focus on India. Dinesh also counsels public, private, and emerging growth companies in a range of matters, including mergers and acquisitions; asset and stock purchases; and sales, venture capital financings, commercial transactions, and general corporate matters.
