WHAT is PowerPoint Karaoke?
PowerPoint Karaoke is a community improv game where experienced and novice startup enthusiasts are put on the spot to test their creative and nonsensical presentation skills. It’s the ultimate test of innovative thinking: pitch a concept that is not your own without rehearsal.
Improv Asylum and IA Innovation‘s own Norm Laviolette joins us as emcee and sets the stage as the first to attempt presenting- it’s a show you won’t want to miss!
HOW does it work?
The concept of PowerPoint Karaoke is simple. Presenters receive a topic to sell just before they address the audience. Once on stage, each presenter will get:

A never-before-seen (slightly ridiculous) pitch deck with 3-4 slides

3 minutes to “sell” the deck to the audience

The chance to win prizes based on audience vote
WHO should attend?
Anyone looking to entertain and be entertained! If you consider yourself to be creative, quick, and a superb presenter, sign up for a chance to be a presenter. If you’re looking to laugh, vote, and meet new people, sign up to be an observer!
WHY should you attempt to pitch?

- First Prize: Apple Watch, provided by Grasshopper
- Second Prize: One month free office space, provided by WeWork
- All Presenters: Free credit to a class of your choice, provided by General Assembly
WANT to pitch?
Indicate your interest by selecting “presenter” ticket type. This does NOT guarantee you a spot. We will draw names of presenters the day-of.
The fine print:
This is purely a community improv night meant to bring the Boston startup community together and challenge people in different ways. This is NOT an opportunity to pitch your company, nor do the results mean anything for your company’s success. There will be ample time for networking before and after the event, so bring your business cards, but leave your decks at home.
