Venture Fast Track: Fundraising Bootcamp for Early Stage Entrepreneurs & Meet 30+ Boston Investors!

The Capital Network’s Fast Track Boot Camp for Early Stage Entrepreneurs, is an intensive, interactive full-day seminar designed to provide entrepreneurs and innovators an in-depth understanding of what it takes to raise early stage capital. You will spend the day learning from and interacting with New England’s leading investors, entrepreneurs, and early-stage experts through workshops, panels and discussions. You will leave the Venture Fast Track with concrete materials and knowledge that will help you move your company forward through the various stages of the fundraising process, and with a new network of mentors and peers from which to draw.

Mentors and Faculty are drawn from New England’s Investment and Entrepreneurship Community and will include members of:

9:15 – 10:30am Money & Metrics: Understanding your Stage and Options and What it Means for Fundraising

Using Scoring Sheets & Lean Canvas methods, you will be able to walk away with a clear picture of what pieces are missing in your company structure to maximize your fundraising prospects.

10:40 – 11:40am Pitches & Decks – Elevator Pitches to Formal Presentations – an Evolution

You never get a second chance at a first impression. Early-stage ventures seeking investment need to know how to target, locate, approach, and close with venture capitalists, angels, and strategic investors. Learn about refining your pitches and hear first-hand a successful pitch from an entrepreneur who has closed a funding round (or two) and how the company’s pitch evolved over time.

11:50 – 12:50pm Beyond the Pitch: Closing the Deal with Investors

Achieving the perfect pitch is just the beginning, after is when the real work begins – continuing to sell (and run!) your company during intensive due diligence, deep dives, term negotiations while pulling together investors from various groups to close up your round. Learn from an entrepreneur and their investor on how they achieved their raise. They will share their stories from the field of what works and what kills the deal to help you go from beyond a great pitch to be an expert at selling and closing your company to investors.

1:00 – 2:00pm – Mentor Lunch

The Entrepreneur-Mentor lunch is an opportunity for entrepreneurs to ask questions and receive advice from experienced entrepreneurs, strategic professionals and early-stage investors who are active supporters of New England’s entrepreneurial community. Entrepreneurs come ready with one-minute pitches and a burning question. Investors and mentors come ready with a fountain of knowledge and advice.

2:00 – 3:10pm – Pitch Competition

Pitching is an art where practice makes perfect. Here you get the opportunity to give a 90 second pitch to a room full of experienced entrepreneurs, peers and investors (see Lunch Mentor List). Get the feedback you need and the glory you crave! Sign-up for this happens in the morning – you must attend the full day to participate and a few will be selected at random to participate. Get practicing!
