Celebrate Female Founders! Join local Business women in the Boston innovation community at Workbar Cambridge for a night of mixing, mingling, and discussion with breakout session on specific topics related to women in business.
The Capital Network will be running a breakout session from 6:30 - 7:15 on Funding Options for Female Founders
A panel of female entrepreneurs and investors will discuss topics including:
- funding options and resources available for female founders in Boston,
- challenges and obstacles specific to female entrepreneurs &
- tips for successful funding and growing your business!

Betty Francisco

Betty Francisco

Latina Circle, Pipeline Angels, Re-imagine Play

Betty Francisco is an entrepreneur, business executive and community leader, and a passionate advocate for advancing attorneys of color and Latina professionals into leadership roles. She co-founded Latina Circle, a network that provides Latina professionals with mentoring, leadership training, and business partnering opportunities so they can achieve their potential. Betty is also an entrepreneur and an investor with Pipeline Angels, a network of new and seasoned women investors, changing the face of angel investing and creating capital for women and non-binary femme social entrepreneurs. Betty is also the founder of FitNation Ventures, a boutique consulting practice focused on fitness and lifestyle programming for youth in the Greater Boston area and launchers of Re-imagine Play.

Ashley Lucas

Director, Babson WIN Lab

Ashley Lucas is the Director of the Babson WIN (Women Innovating Now) Lab, an eight-month long program designed specifically for high-growth women entrepreneurs that accelerates their entrepreneurial paths. The WIN Lab invests in women, empowering them to disrupt, experiment, and build successful businesses on their own terms. The WIN Lab recognizes that women build businesses differently. Through innovative programming the Lab invests in the development of its residents, enabling them to test, disrupt, and innovate. Once WINners are ready to grow, the Lab provides the road map, expertise, inspiration, and community needed to successfully scale ventures.

Kate Anderson

Operations Director, iFundWomen

Kate Anderson is the Operations Director at iFundWomen, a fundraising ecosystem for women-led startups and small businesses. The mission of iFundWomen is to close the funding and confidence gap by providing a crowdfunding platform, coaching, and connections all designed to help female entrepreneurs start better businesses.

Other breakout sessions will be led by organizations such as Boston Women Connect, The Center for Women and Enterprise and Aileen Axtmayer from Aspire with Aileen. Please be sure to sign up for the sessions (up to two) that you prefer via Eventbrite to reserve your spot.

Light drinks and snacks will be served and there will be plenty of time for networking!
