Laura Hales is the Founder of The Isis Editing Group, a scientific consulting and communications company. Andrew Hedin is a Vice President in Bessemer Venture Partners where he focuses on investments in healthcare. Prior to joining Bessemer, Andrew worked at F-Prime Capital, Fidelity’s healthcare-focused venture capital fund. While there, he invested broadly across healthcare in early stage healthcare tech, healthcare services, biotech and medtech startups. Andrew has also worked with Health Essentials, a healthcare services company focused on providing post-acute and coordinated care to the frail elderly. Andrew began his career at Leerink Partners, a boutique healthcare-focused firm where he focused on growth strategies for pharmaceutical, biotech and medical device companies.
The Entrepreneur: John Fanning Jr.
Founder and CEO at Zelgor Inc.
John Fanning Jr graduated from the University of Miami in 2014 with a degree in Entrepreneurship. He founded Zelgor Inc. in 2012 after graduating from Draper University, where he led his team to first place in the month-long business development competition. At Draper University, he finished top 10 in the VC pitch competition with his idea for a GPS-based mobile game that let users take over the real world. He has raised from angels and venture investors, and recently closed out his Netcapital offering at over 900% his target.
