Traditional demo days tend to be more about performance than about the individual — this type of format doesn’t allow investors to really get to know a founder, which can be an important prerequisite to funding.
So, we decided to change the game.
The capstone event for our Fellowship for Female Founders, at our Demo Day, there will be NO live pitching — instead, founders use the Scroobious platform (created by 2020 Fellow Allison Byers!) to record pitch videos which investors watch in advance. During the event, each founder will have a live Q&A with a champion about themself and their vision for their business.
By enabling investors to gain a deeper understanding of both the business and the founder, our Demo Day helps the founders tell their whole story and creates strong connections.
